Hurricane Relief Donation

Hurricane Relief Donation I made a promise in mid-October, I was willing to make a Hurricane Relief Donation, based on the royalties from “Bold They Rise” audiobook sales.  I chose to donate the accumulating royalties from October,  November & December 2017.  Keeping that promise today, funds are on the way to a charity assisting in the affected areas.   It is easy to make donations when seeing the disaster in the news each day or […]

Evidence of water on Mars

Evidence of water on Mars   One of Curiosity’s mission is to look for evidence of water on Mars – places where life might exist.  The rover Curiosity has taken some pretty amazing pictures of the Mars terrain.  Some of the pictures certainly suggest there could have been water there at one time. Hard to believe the rover has been there three years already.  As I’ve written before, it isn’t breaking any land speed records […]

Revelation – Fifth angel sounds trumpet

Revelation – Fifth angel sounds trumpet Studying Revelation, I often ponder many word pictures by John, as he explains what is revealed to him.  These were future events, with future technology in some cases.  Imagine living 2,000 years ago, you’ve never seen airplanes, cars, locomotives, rockets, yet, you need to describe them so people can understand.  Such is the case in the subtitled section of Revelation – Fifth angel sounds trumpet in Chapter 9. Revelation […]

40 year voyage

40 Year Voyage – Voyager 1   Voyager 1, what an amazing piece of machinery! The satellite left Earth in September 1977.  I remember being amazed that it was going to travel to Jupiter.  I became more amazed when it also visited Saturn.  A few years ago, it became the first man-made object to venture into interstellar space.  Voyager 1 is now about 13 billion miles from Earth, still functioning. We still communicate with the […]

Mars Images

Mars overhead views Thought I would post some of the interesting overhead photos taken of Mars. Work continues on Orion construction for a late 2018 launch of an unmanned craft to test the systems. Curiosity continues to explore the surface, having traveled about 10 miles of the surface since arriving on Mars.

Curiosity-Mt Sharp

Mars Exploration Curiosity continues to explore the region around Mt. Sharp on Mars.  This photo shows the variety of areas to explore at various elevations.  Curiosity continues to search for microbial life, as of yet none has been found.  This area may hold the best promise as the rover and scientists work together to examine the minerals found at the higher levels.  So far they have found Hematite, clay and boron at these higher levels. […]
