What is Christianity all about?
God created a perfect world…
Genesis 1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.
God created Adam and Eve and they were obedient to God…to a point. Satan who tried to become like God because of his pride, tempted Adam and Eve. They disobeyed God….
Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
God forced Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden, his perfect work.
Gen 3:23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.
God provided rules for his children, he did expect us to keep them perfectly, because he is perfect (holy). These were the 10 Commandments…see Exodus 20
We were unable to keep ANY of those commandments…for example, You shall not steal. If you’ve ever thought of stealing, you’ve broken the commandment. Remember, we need to live up to God’s standards of PERFECTION, not ours.
God had a plan, he didn’t want us to spend eternity in hell for our SIN and failures. To save us, a blood sacrifice had to be offered. The plan is first revealed in Genesis 3:15…
And I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring[a] and hers;
he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
Later, in the New Testament book of John we learn…
John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
The Son of God came to Earth as true God and as a man
John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
He didn’t come to us in a huge palace, with riches, but rather came almost unnoticed. He was born to humble and poor parents, placed in cattle feeding trough. His birth was announced only to the shepherds, the lowest members of society. See Luke 2.
Jesus was tempted by Satan, Luke 4, each time Satan asked Jesus to follow his commands. Each time Jesus replied with the Word of God, an offensive weapon against Satan. Jesus refused to bow to Satan, he kept the commandments PERFECTLY.
In his time on Earth, he not only demonstrated the need for FAITH, but he taught it as well. Faith was required to heal the man with leprosy (Luke 5:12-13), the paralytic (Luke 5:17-20), the centurion’s servant (Luke 7: 1-10). His teaching, the Parable of the Sower (Luke 8: 1-15).
Jesus gave us examples:
- LACK OF FAITH (Luke 8:22-25).
- Feeding of the Five Thousand (Luke 9:10-17), here he demonstrates to his disciples, right in front of their face, what Faith can accomplish.
- Performing very few miracles in his hometown because the people lack faith (Matt 13:53-58).
Jesus came here to save us. We broke the law (were sinful & unholy) and could never enter near God’s holiness. In order to save us (buy us back-redeem us), a blood sacrifice was required. Jesus became that sacrifice when he suffered and died on the cross. He paid the ransom in full with his life. Jesus explains this sacrifice he is about to make when he speaks with a Pharisee named Nicodemus (John 3:1-21), he talks about God’s plan to save us, how it requires Faith and Trust. The most recognized text in this section is John 3:16.
Jesus didn’t stop with his death, he paid a visit to hell to reveal his power over Satan, to declare victory over death, eternal death. Jesus rose from the tomb 3 days after his burial (John 20). YES, HE IS ALIVE! He paid the ransom, so we could one day spend eternity in the presence of his holiness. Eternity in heaven.
Before his crucifixion, he spoke to his disciples about our future home (John 14:1-4). And in Revelation 21:1-4 …
Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth”, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
We need to confess our sins to God and have Faith that his sacrifice and ONLY his sacrifice pays our way (admission) to heaven.
How important is Faith? There are 458 references to ‘Faith’ in the Bible. Hebrews 11 is a good place to learn about Faith.

A non-fiction account of the walk of faith by the man Alvin York. An interesting book on life of Alvin York, his dilemma following his Christian beliefs while fighting in WW I.
How does any Christian adhere to – “Thou Shalt Not Kill” and yet “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s”?
The world needs more Alvin York’s in this day and age. A man of great faith, a man of moral principles and good character. I feel many of the youth of our country would benefit from reading this book. It would help them understand true hardship and relying on your FAITH in God to bring you through troubling times. You’ll hear (audiobook) about taking the wrong path in life, many times a destructive path. God has ways of bringing us back to him, putting new faces in our lives to support us in our path leading back to him. There are good lessons in this book for everyone.

Christianity takes an astonishing variety of forms in America, from churches that cherish traditional modes of worship to evangelical churches and fellowships, Pentecostal churches, social-action churches, megachurches, and apocalyptic churches – congregations ministering to believers of diverse ethnicities, social classes, and sexual orientations. Nor is this diversity a recent phenomenon, despite many Americans’ nostalgia for an undeviating “faith of our fathers” in the days of yore.

Creationism vs Evolution
The theory of evolution is a theory, not fact. While many digs have uncovered skeletal remains of creatures that once roamed the earth. Remains have not yet been found to bridge the gaps between apes and humans evolving, as has been suggested in evolutionary science.
In his book, “Christian Answers to the Theory of Evolution, Respectful Disagreement with Evolutionary Science“, James M. Lowrance points out many flaws with:
- Evolutionary Theory
- Fossil remains
- Calculating the age of fossils

Who was Jesus?
When we speak of a triune God and the three persons that are God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, it is the Son we are talking about when we speak the name of Jesus.
God who became flesh or man, to live, teach, perform miracles among us. More importantly, to offer himself as a sacrifice for our sins. He paid the price through his shed blood and death. The story does not end there though. Three days later, he awakened from death. Yes, he defeated death. Later he returned to heaven, ascending into heaven before many witnesses, including the 12 Apostles.

What must I do to be saved?
As stated above, Jesus paid the price, took away your sin. There is nothing you can pay, nothing you can do, no set of good deeds you can perform to buy favor to enter heaven. The price of admission is too high. The good news is this, the price has been paid. Jesus offers heaven to you as a free gift. Like any free gift offered by anyone, don’t you have to TAKE POSSESSION OF IT? Don’t you have to accept it?
In prayer, confess to Jesus that you have done wrong or sinned and that you are sorry. Turn away or repent of this wrong-doing. And, finally, put your faith in Christ. Believe that his sacrifice paid the price for all of your past, present and future wrong-doing. There is no substitute. Jesus paid it all.
My hope is, you will take the time to learn of Jesus through this audiobook “Jesus” by Patrick Vaughan, then, explore further by reading a Bible from Genesis thru Revelation. Much of the Bible will not be understood the first few times you read it. From my own personal experience, the more you read from the Bible, the more you will understand.

Read and learn, then, go share with others!!
Author William McKiddy approached me requesting an audition for his book – “Dawn: The Birth of Evil“. I must admit, when it comes to the Bible, I hesitate at doing a fictional work. God’s Word is not to be taken lightly or altered.
As I began reviewing the book, a couple of things caught my attention:
1) Mr. McKiddy noted in the forward of the book, the story was fictional and contained some fictional characters, but the story was based upon the Genesis account of Creation and how it unfolded. He admitted there were verse interpretations he made, they are limited because of the limits of human understanding.
2) I found as I proof-read the book, he was indeed following the accounts of Genesis. He wasn’t trying to twist a day of God’s Creation into 1,000 or even 1 billion years of time. God gave us the account in Genesis, that was enough said.
The rest as they say, IS HISTORY.
Finally, there are a number of character voices in this work, some scheming going on by (Well, you know who!) and of course the complete unfolding of Creation.
